Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 352:

Mineral Species: Quartz.
Location of origin: Northern tip of Manhattan Island beneath the Henry Hudson Bridge, New York City, New York County, New York.
Description: Cavity in gray matrix lined with lustrous transparent colorless quartz crystals. The surrounding matrix was sawn to reduce bulk without risking damage to the quartz crystals inside. Personally collected in 1997. Illustrated in Manhattan Mineral Collecting (1998) Mineral News Vol. 14, #1, p.1-8.
Overall size: 7x4.5x4 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-11 mm
