Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 12119:

Minerals Species: Quartz var. Amethyst scepter-shaped Japan-law twins.
Location of mineral deposit: Andilamena District, Toamasina Province, Madagascar.
Description: Two scepter-shaped quartz crystals (larger quartz crystals overgrown in parallel on smaller quartz crystals) with milky quartz bases and transparent pale-purple amethyst tops. The quartz crystals are twinned following the Japan Law of quartz twinning. No damage is visible to the unaided eye, minute edge chipping is visible under 20x magnification.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 30x25x13 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 16-22 mm.
Price: $350 (plus shipping).
