Minerals Species: Quartz var. Amethyst (Cactus Quartz).
Location of mineral deposit: Boekenhouthoek area, Mpumalanga Province, South Africa.
Description: Medium purple amethyst crystals up to 65 mm long with overgrowth of smaller 3-4 mm amethyst crystals around the prism faces of the larger crystals. Several areas around the base have brown limonite stains. No damage.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 7x6.5x4.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 2-65 mm.
Price: $95 (plus shipping).
