Minerals Species: Galena.
Location of mineral deposit: Tri-State Lead-Zinc Mining District, near Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri.
Description: Large gray-metallic galena crystals with no matrix attached. The galena is cubic crystal habit with overgrowth of octahedral galena in parallel orientation. The overgrowth makes a fascinating pattern on the cubic faces. No damage. Ex. Steve Chamberlain collection #2063; originally acquired in 1979.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 8x7x5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-60 mm.
Price: $125 (plus shipping).
