Minerals Species: Zoisite var. Tanzanite.
Location of mineral deposit: Merelani Hills, western slope of Lelatama Mountains, Arusha Region, Tanzania. (Type Locality for Tanzanite) Click here to see other minerals from Type localities.
Description: Wedge-shaped single crystal of blue-violet tanzanite with no matrix attached weighing 14.82 carats. The crystal is terminated, highly lustrous and internally transparent. Shows excellent color change when viewed from front (blue-gray) and side (violet). No damage.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 20x15x8 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 20 mm.
Price: $600 net (plus shipping).
