Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 44948:

Minerals Species: Quartz var. Amethyst.
Location of mineral deposit: Little Badger Creek, northeast of Howard, Fremont County, Colorado.
Description: Doubly-terminated transparent-to-translucent purple amethyst quartz crystal with no matrix attached. One face on the bottom is incomplete where it was attached to matrix. No damage is visible to the unaided eye, minute edge chipping is visible under 20x magnification. Ex. Chas. W. Velte Jr. (1914-1987).
Overall size of mineral specimen: 23x18x14 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 23 mm.
Price: $28 (plus shipping).
