Minerals Species: Fluorite.
Location of mineral deposit: Minerva #1 Mine, Cave-in-Rock District, Hardin County, Illinois.
Description: Bi-colored cubic fluorite crystals to 62 mm on edge. The fluorite has a transparent yellow core with 6 mm blue (looks purple under incandescent illumination) purple outer zone plus many yellow-metallic pyrite or chalcopyrite inclusions throughout. No damage is visible to the unaided eye, minute edge chipping is visible under 20x magnification.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 9x6x6 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-62 mm.
Price: $500 net (plus shipping).
