Minerals Species: Quartz var. Amethyst (Japan-law twin) Scepter-shaped formation.
Location of mineral deposit: Ambatondrazaka District, Toamasina Province, Madagascar.
Description: Japan-law twinned amethyst quartz crystals with deepest purple color at the crystal terminations. The amethyst crystals are scepter formations of lager caps on smaller stems. No damage is visible to the unaided eye, minute edge chipping is visible under 20x magnification.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 30x21x15 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 15-18 mm.
Price: $350 (plus shipping).
