Minerals Species: Sphalerite (Spinel-law twinned crystals) with Chalcopyrite, Quartz, Calcite.
Location of mineral deposit: Herja Mine (Kisbanya), Baia Mare, Maramures, Romania.
Description: Lustrous Spinel-law twinned translucent brown sphalerite crystals to 18 mm with epitaxial overgrowth of metallic chalcopyrite crystals to 2 mm, lustrous transparent colorless quartz crystals to 15 mm and translucent colorless calcite crystal to 5 mm. All crystals present are complete and undamaged, but there is evidence among the many crystals that a few are missing.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 10x8x4.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-18 mm.
Price: $225 (plus shipping).
