| Below is a gallery of Laguna Agates
for sale from John Betts - Fine Minerals in New York City, NY.
Laguna Agate only originates from Ojo Laguna, Mexico and are highly sought-after
by serious collectors for their bright colors and fortification (banded)
patterns. Technically these are labeled as "Quartz, variety Laguna
Agate" because they are composed of the mineral species Quartz, but are the
variety known as Laguna Agate. The best Laguna Agates are half nodules because
they are more substantial and represent half of the formation. Less expensive
specimens are usually sawn into thin slabs, getting many slabs from a single
nodule, but greatly reducing their value. The Laguna Agates below are all
high quality nodules - none have the thin internal cracks that common on
inexpensive specimens and greatly detract from their beauty and value. Each
Laguna Agate is polished on one face to highlight the internal patterns.
To purchase mineral specimens, go to the
online order form.
